PCGS GRADED MS63 1845 QUARTER EAGLE

The 1845 is a common issue in grades through MS62. Properly graded MS63 and MS64 examples are scarce, and this date has never been graded MS65 of finer by PCGS.

This is a very appealing example for the grade with rich natural rose and orange-gold hues. An obvious scratch in the field below Liberty’s chin and some busy-ness in the right obverse field are clearly why this coin failed its attempt to gain acceptance at CAC.

There are only two APRs for this date in PCGS MS63 since 2007: $3,974 (6/2018) and $3,819 (11/2014).
