As this is a common date and one that comes well-made, the 1883-CC is an issue that makes an ideal choice for a type example o a Carson City double eagle.

I can’t imagine a higher-end Gem Slider than this lovely, totally original coin. It has immaculate surfaces which even under a 5x glass fail to show more than a few small blemishes.

The last three APRs for PCGS/CAC AU58 1883-CC double eagles are $9,000 (5/2023), $10,800 (8/2022), and $9,600 (5/2022). Two non-CAC NGC AU58s have brought $9,300 (1/2024) and $9,600 (9/2023).
