The 1899 is a common date in grades through MS65 to MS66. As with all With Motto Liberty Head half eagles, superb Gems are rare.
This coin could have easily graded MS66 and I sent it in—raw—just once.

This lovely coin gets my strongest recommendation as a type coin.
